Templates and :circuitcode
Once you've built something that works, there's no need to redo it box by box: a template copies it and the text editor lets you tweak it.
What a template is
A template saves a piece of your island —the circuit boxes in an area and the objects on top of them, with their settings— to place it again in another zone where you have permissions.
Each object a template places is new and yours: it's bought at that moment.
How you pay
- You pay in gold, at each object's shop price.
- Before confirming, the simulation tells you the total. Simulating charges nothing.
- All or nothing: if you lack gold, or a single piece can't be bought or placed there, the template isn't applied, nothing is charged and you're told which piece fails and why.
- If something fails after you've been charged (someone took the tile at that very moment), whatever was placed is removed and your gold is refunded.
Which pieces can't be copied
- Anything not for sale in the shop or without a gold price.
- VIP objects if you're not VIP, limited-edition objects and packs.
- Chests, and objects BoomBang creates or places in a special way: tents, portals, teleports, Room link, bots and the like.
- Things that only go inside a house (or only outside), and nothing from inside a tent.
Those pieces are bought and placed by hand.
The :circuitcode editor
With :circuitcode you see your zone's circuits as text and can edit them from there: move boxes, change their settings or create new blocks.
- Creating a block from text also buys it with gold, at the shop price, piece by piece.
- If an already paid piece doesn't fit where the text says, it stays in your backpack.
- Moving from the text keeps the object's level, just like the object editor.
Verified notes (12)
- A template saves a piece of your island (the circuit boxes in the area and the objects on top, with their settings) so you can place it in another zone where you have rights.
- Every object a template places is new and yours: it's bought at that moment.
- A template is paid in gold, at each object's shop price.
- The simulation tells you the total before you confirm and doesn't charge anything.
- If you're short of gold, or a single piece can't be bought or placed there, the template isn't applied, nothing is charged, and you're told which piece and why.
- If something fails after you've been charged (someone took the tile at that very moment), what was placed is removed and the gold is refunded. Your log shows two lines: the charge and the refund.
- A template can't place anything not for sale in the shop or without a gold price, VIP objects if you're not VIP, limited-edition objects, packs or chests.
- It also can't place objects BoomBang creates or places in a special way: tents, portals, teleports, Room link, bots, minotaur and similar, and unique zone effects.
- A template doesn't place what only goes inside a house (or only outside), or anything inside a tent. Those pieces are bought and placed by hand.
- In the
:circuitcodeeditor, creating a block from text also buys it with gold, at the shop price, piece by piece. - In
:circuitcode, if an already-paid piece doesn't fit where the text says, it stays in your backpack. - Moving an object with
:circuitcodekeeps its level: a BBox's level is set by the owner.
