Chests and contracts
With chests your island can hand out real rewards —objects, gold and silver— and charge for them with contracts. Everything comes from what you stored: circuits never create money or objects.
The three chests
| Chest | What it stores |
|---|---|
| Object chest | Objects from your backpack as they are, including bags and ingots of any currency (they're still objects). |
| Gold chest | A gold balance. You fill it with Gold Bag (1,000) and Gold Ingots (50,000), which disappear and add their value. |
| Silver chest | A silver balance. You fill it with Silver Bag (1,000) and Silver Ingots (50,000). |
- There's no diamond chest: diamond bags and ingots go in the object chest, like any object.
- Small bags (x10, x50, x100, x500), bags of bags and pirate ingots don't go in the gold or silver chests. A silver bag doesn't go in the gold chest, or vice versa.
Putting things in a chest
To give objects or coins to a chest you need trade mode switched on, the same one you use for trading. Without it, the game tells you that you can't make the trade.
- Only what's really in your backpack goes in: not a placed object, one in the market, in the clan or offered in an open trade.
- With an open trade you can't start storing; and while you're storing, you can't open a trade.
- Reloading the island or restarting the server changes nothing: the content and balance go with the chest.
Withdrawing
Only the chest's owner can withdraw, even if the chest is set up for circuits. Gold and silver go to your wallet (never more than there is) and objects to your backpack.
Storing bags in your gold chest and withdrawing them is a way to swap bags for gold in your wallet.
Using a chest in circuits
When placed, a chest is locked and works as a normal chest. For a stack to use it, its owner must turn on “circuit” in the chest settings and unlock it. The boxes that use chests, and contracts, are set up only by the island owner.
- Effect: Give coins from chest pays straight into the player's wallet. With a fixed amount, if all the chests together don't have enough, it pays nothing (not even part).
- Effect: Give object from chest delivers objects to the backpack; each object is delivered only once and an empty chest gives nothing.
- Condition: Chest has contents, Condition: Chest has object type and Addon: Count object types in chest read the content without moving it, to warn you when a chest is running low.
- A normal chest (without “circuit”) can't be picked in those boxes: the window warns you and doesn't save.
Contracts and transactions
A contract says what the player has to give and what they get in return. The stack offers it with Effect: Start transaction and the player accepts it in a trade window.
| Contract | What for |
|---|---|
| Payment contract | The player pays and the payment goes into your chests. |
| Trade contract | The player pays and also receives a reward from your chests. |
| Reward contract | An immediate reward from your chests, with no payment. |
- Contracts are paid with bags, ingots (at their value) and objects. Gold and silver from the wallet can't pay a contract.
- The payment goes into the chosen chests; if it doesn't fit, it goes to the chest's owner (coins to the wallet, objects to the backpack).
- All or nothing: if something fails halfway, it's fully undone. The player keeps what they offered, receives nothing, the chests stay the same and Trigger: Transaction failed fires. If it succeeds, Trigger: Transaction completed fires.
Upgrading a chest
Upgrading a chest gives it more capacity and costs silver from your wallet: upgrade number n costs n × 1,000 silver, up to 5,000 per upgrade. If you can't afford it, nothing is upgraded or charged.
Verified notes (25)
- There are three chests: Object chest, Gold chest and Silver chest. There's no diamond chest: diamond bags and bars go in the object chest like any other object.
- The Object chest stores backpack objects as they are, bags and bars included (they're still objects).
- Only what's really in the backpack goes in: not an object that's placed, on the market, in the clan or offered in an open trade.
- With a trade open you can't start depositing into a chest.
- The Gold chest and the Silver chest are filled with bags and bars, which disappear and add their value to the chest's balance.
- Values: Gold Bars 50,000 and Gold Bag 1,000 (gold); Silver Bars 50,000 and Silver Bag 1,000 (silver).
- Nothing else counts: small bags (x10, x50, x100, x500), bag bundles, pirate bars and diamond bars don't go in.
- A silver bag doesn't go in the Gold chest, and a gold one doesn't go in the Silver chest.
- Only the chest's owner can withdraw, even with “circuit” turned on.
- From the gold or silver chest you withdraw to your wallet, never more than it holds; from the object chest, to your backpack.
- Depositing bags in your chest and withdrawing them is a way to turn bags into wallet coins.
- To use a chest in circuits, turn on “circuit” in its settings and remove the lock: it's locked when placed.
- A regular chest can't be chosen in Effect: Give coins from chest, Effect: Give object from chest or Effect: Start transaction: the box warns you and doesn't save.
- Effect: Give coins from chest pays straight to the wallet; there's nothing to claim later.
- In Effect: Give coins from chest with a fixed amount, if all the chests together don't have enough, it pays nothing (not even part).
- Effect: Give object from chest hands out each object only once. With the chest empty it fails and gives nothing.
- Contracts are paid with bags and bars (at their value) and with objects. Gold and silver from the wallet can't pay a contract.
- What's paid goes into the chosen chests. If it doesn't fit, it goes to the chest's owner: coins to their wallet and objects to their backpack.
- The reward comes from the chests: coins go to the wallet and objects to the backpack.
- A contract can only ask for an object that's for sale in the shop and can be traded. An object removed from the shop can't be requested.
- In a contract's texts, banned words are rejected and other bad words are censored.
- If a transaction fails halfway (for example, the chest ran out of space), it's fully undone: the player keeps what they offered, gets nothing, the chests stay the same and Trigger: Transaction failed fires.
- Upgrading a chest costs silver from the wallet: upgrade n costs n × 1,000, at most 5,000 per upgrade. Without enough silver it isn't upgraded and nothing is charged.
- Reloading the island or restarting the server changes nothing: contents and balance stay with the chest.
- Chests can't be traded, sold or recycled. Their contents go with the object.
