Variable scoreboard

AuxiliaryNo. 9136

Synopsis

It reads a variable (for example, each keko's points) and shows it as a table, with no need to end a game. In its window you choose the variable, the format, the order (“Highest value first” or “Lowest value first”), the row limit and whether the board is shown. “Only users in the room” and “Hide zero values” change who appears, not the stored value. Great for personal point rankings built with User variable.

Step by step

A ranking of personal points

  1. Create a User variable named “points”, enable “Has value” and choose “While the user is in the room”. Save before using it in other boxes.
  2. Stack “Says something” = “add”, “Give variable” and “Change variable value”. For Give, choose Users → points for the triggering user, initial value 0 and no overwrite. For Change, add 5 to the same variable and user. Save.
  3. Place the scoreboard and double-click to open it. Select points, Points format, “Highest value first”, a limit of 20, and enable “Show scoreboard”. Save.
  4. Say “add” twice and ask someone else to say it once. Check the order. Change the scoreboard to “Lowest value first”, save and compare.

Result: You appear first with 10 and the other person follows with 5. Reversing the order puts 5 first.

Settings

This object has no settings window of its own: you place it and use it as it is, or from the circuits menu.

Notes

  • This scoreboard reads a variable; no game needs to end. “Only users in the room” and “Hide zero values” change who appears, not the stored value.
